Go downstairs, the son is there. He is in a hurry to use the bathroom, so go and start to empty the dishwasher. After a few minutes this is done. Throw away a few empty cans left on the sideboard.
The son comes out and asks whether or not he may use the shower. So go to the bathroom and then let him go ahead and use the shower,
Make breakfast, the usual, for one person. He finishes showering, but this is of no import now anyway. Take the plate and the mug of coffee upstairs, and have a solitary Sunday breakfast.
Edit a picture for a friend and send it on to him.
Then go downstairs and have a shower.
Upstairs, soft the clothes,
Downstairs, discover that the washing machine has been filled and is working for either the wife or the son.
This is one of the problems of living with people whether you like them or not.
