early today

Today there was the usual awake and collapse routine, though everything moved more slowly this time. And it was easy to go out and to fetch the car and to install the sheet of wood in the back to take up the large printer tomorrow. That will be a slightly longer drive. Take the car to the artists studio, collect a few small tools, also go to the building suppliers and buy a set of bits for the electrical screwdriver. At the artists studio meet up with the practising saxophone player, a writer who cooks well; the conversation distracts so much that things are forgotten.

All of the parking spaces opposite to the police are occupied by cars that are not really entitled to be there. This is a nuisance, cruise around and search for alternatives. There is a free parking space around the corner near the museums, this is lucky. Probably there are many people who have business with the police this morning, after the weekend. Still, those parking spots are reserved for local residents.

Go home, and realise that a few small items have been forgotten in the studio.

Go to the studio on foot. Collect the roll of paper and the small magnifier.

On the way back  pay a visit to the mall and have a slice of meatloaf in a bread roll, a kind of cheap snack. It is much cheaper than one of those disastrously expensive US style hamburgers in cartons.

Then go by the car and put the roll of paper and the magnifier in the back with the other necessary things.

Go home, and look up things on this computer. Forget to turn the heater on, and suddenly feel frozen from head to toe. That is horrible.

Then walk through town and have a very expensive coffee in a mainstream café. It is nice and beautifully warm.

As there will be a long and trying drive tomorrow, resolve to go to bed early today.
