Delicious with coffee and cream.

 Watch the brother making Apfelstrudel, a speciality of his. Peel the apples and slice them into thin slices, he makes the dough. When the dough is done and the breadcrumbs are roasted the dough has stayed long enough in its oily bath to be thin and flexible.

He pulls the doug out over a cloth, it is like rubber or like gum. After all the careful stretching over the cloth it is thin and translucen, showing every ridge and bump in the cloth. The cut apples are spread out upon the thin stretched dough, and then another layer of breadcrumbs,

Then the delicate skin of pastry is wrapped around the mass of apples and crumbs by raising  the cloth and rolling the whole thing into an intestine-like sausage, 

With the greatest of care the whole ensemble is sealed with melted butter and placed onto the metal baking tray.

And then it is placed into the oven.
