It is strange that waking up is so difficult in this cold weather. Leaving bed should be more difficult, but the cold is not so bad. It is, after all, not freezing. That is something.
The morning things such as making breakfast and reading the news are all done, so go downstairs and fetch the ironing board and the clothes iron. There is a large stack of washed shirts folded on top of the dresser, it is time that they were flattened and decreased. This means crease removal and not reducing the amount or the size of the shirts.
First, the inside of the collar, pressed flat.
Then, spread the yoke out and press that, taking care to flatten all the seams.
Then the cuff of the right arm, and then the arm. Turn the arm over to smooth the other side as well.
Then the same to the left arm, with its attendant cuff. Then the front left, the side of the torso and the rear. Take care not to iron too much of the central crease on the back part of the shirt.
Then carry on until the buttons are there, work a way around every button.
Then hang the shirt.
Continue until there are nineteen metal hangers on the knobs of the dresser.
Atogetther, four hours of work.
And the shirts need to be folded yet.
