Cleanliness

Today is election day, went to the polling place in the morning and realised that the paper work was still on the table at home. That is no matter really, just walked back and picked it up. The son was not awake yet. so went upstairs to ask him, or her, whether or not it would be pleasant to go up together. He agreed, and went back down and listened to the radio waiting for him to put his day clothes on . This took almost an hour.

The second walk to the polling station was pleasant, the day was clear and it was a pleasant Sunday. Voting was pleasant , and it went very quickly. There were only two places to make a cross on the ballot, it was just a matter of deciding between the two principal candidates, as neither had reached the quorum required to elect a mayor for this town. So everybody had to go back and vote again. It was strange to see a docket with just two names on it.

After voting walked up the hill to go into the park. For some reason the gate was locked. The gate is not normally locked on Sundays, perhaps one of the park keepers had forgotten to unlock it. On the way back the son took a walk through his old school, a sort of a sentimental walk through memory lane.

Afterwards, return home. Have a dish with some of the rest of the potatoes.

Wash out the pan with acetic acid, the smell hangs in the air and refuses to go away. That is just the way things are.

Cleanliness stinks sometimes.
