 Awake, make breakfast and shower. Watered all the plants today, spring is here and they seem to need it badly. Perhaps this will turn into yet another daily ritual.

Waited for the postman, he was delayed today, time was spent washing up and trying to organise things. The wife knocked on the door and said that she would be gone for the next week and - "please feed the cat".  Sure thing, there is no problem feeding the cat.

The parcel arrives, sign the docket, and leave the house to go over to the  studio on the other side of the two rivers. The landlord of the pub shows how to adjust the thermostat for the heating. The heating is set far too high for comfort. Leave the packet with the printed visiting cards on the refrigerator.

Examine the arm of the figure. This is the arm that was glued last night. The glue appears to have set. Withdraw the clamping screw, and drill the hole out so that it is six millimetres in width. Cut a piece of six millimetre dowelling and coat it with wood glue. Use a wooden mallet to knock the dowel hard enough to drive it all the way into the hole, thereby filling it. Remove the excess dowel with a plane, finishing  it so that it is entirely flush.

There, that job is finished. The master can carve the arm now. Maybe later on in the evening

Leave the place and walk back home. Lie down for half an hour.

The film will start at six. Go there and buy two tickets, and wait.

Wait until the very last minute and then realise that the film has been forgotten. Sell the tickets to two late comers and go home.

Later on in the evening go out with the wife of the teacher and have a small meal at a country place. The meal is tasty. The company is pleasant.

And now, home again and no idea of what to do.

It is nearly a quarter to ten at night.
