Remember to pay the waiter first

There is no problem getting up, but what for? Breakfast finished, move away the crockery, and then cut six sheets of A4 paper in half so that now they are A5. Put them into the printer, pick out the pictures that Eva wanted yesterday from the stack of pictures that John may have if he wants.

Start the printer, and take the used dishes downstairs. Waste time until ten doing sundry things, then pack the pictures into envelopes. The second printing, the one for Eva, was done on better paper, and held a small bit lighter than the first batch. They are  more pleasing , this is all right. Then go out, visit the artist in her gallery and give her the photograph as promised. Chat a while, then go.

Meet the son by chance on the street corner. He looks tired, he is strained by all those things that he has to take care of these days. After a short chat he goes on home. It would be lovely to talk to him for a longer time, but he does not want to. He has all the problems that young men in their late teens have.

It is going to be a day of pieces again. Meet the crowd of powerful citizens now discussing the things of their age, spend the time making contrary comments. They all seem so radical. The one is against gay expression on the street, the other is against legalising soft drugs. They all seem to be supporters of the pageant that is due to start in a few weeks.

At three, get up and go, say goodbye and leave. Remember to pay the waiter first.
