After some hours, between breakfast and ten realise that there is nothing to be found on the internet to repair the car cheaply. The day is very hot, be happy that the cars air conditioning functions well. At the filling station, fill the cars tank, and then proceed to leave town. On the way out of town there is a small place that sells tyres, maybe they can help.
Ask a man who is wheeling a stack of tyres. He looks at the car, and says that it is practically impossible to get hubcaps for a car that is that old. But then he says that as those are steel rims, they can be repaired. He gives directions to the office, and speak to a man there. He looks at the tyre and point out that there is severe damage to the tyre wall, it is lucky that it did not burst. Think about the son having driven more than a thousand kilometres on those wheels, that is not a nice thought. The people say that they can replace the tyre straight away, and they do.
They make a mistake fitting the tyre to the rim, and destroy their brand new tyre. They offer a replacement, that is ok.
On the return home, notice that the car is driving much more smoothly than before. This is strange.
It was a lot of money to spend, much more than had been expected.
Too bad, that is the way it goes
